Things you need to know.

Venue Sign In

Due to COVID all members, teams, and guests are required by law to sign in to all SportUNE venues


How to complete the visitor log?

1) For EACH person attending our venue, scan the right-side QR code with the camera app of your Smartphone.

2) Go to the link contained in the QR code.

3) Fill in your details and press [Submit].

4) And done!

*If you do not have a smartphone a pen and paper sign-in sheet must be completed.

Why?

The name and contact details are being collected for the purpose of contact tracing in the event of a suspected COVID-19 case at this venue.

How secure is the personal information?

Your information will not be released to the public or shared with any third party except the government agency responsible to contact people who may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Locations

Please note each venue has a different QR code. That must be scanned when entering the venue.

Members Must

  • Stay home if you are unwell and currently experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case in the last 14 days.
  • Adhere to Social Distancing. You must stay 1.5 metres apart from our staff and fellow members.
  • Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands regularly, either with soap and water or hand sanitiser. Apply hand sanitiser on arrival and exit of the venue. We encourage you to carry and use your own personal hand sanitiser while in the venue.
  • Sweat towels are compulsory in all areas of SportUNE, please use a clean sweat towel for each session.
  • Bring your own drink bottle and water – no refill stations are available.
  • Clean equipment before and after use. Cleaning stations are available with high-grade disinfectant, paper towel and hand sanitiser.
  • Follow COVID Safe directions for entering and exiting the facilities. Staff will be provide directions and adhere to signage throughout the venue.
  • Number of people in our facilities will vary with frequent reassessment and government updates, please follow staff for these updates.
  • Follow the directions of our staff at all times

COVID Conditions of Entry

To ensure that the health and safety of our community and staff we have introduced a range of new measures – that will change upon frequent review. This page will outline the guidelines advised by NSW Government, SportUNE and the University of New England to allow and ensure a safe and sustainable reopening of SportUNE’s facilities to our members and guests.

Please make yourself familiar with the latest conditions of entry below.

Conditions of Entry

School Group Bookings

SportUNE is now able to facilitate School Group Bookings.

  • A COVID safety plan must be completed and returned to SportUNE before bookings are placed.
  • Please contact SportUNE directly via email or phone (02) 6773 3856 and the team will walk you through this process.

When You Arrive

  • Check-in with SportUNE staff at the front desk, where you will receive a COVIDSafe briefing and have your attendance recorded.
  • Only arrive for your session close to the start time to avoid unnecessary queuing.

During & After Your Session

  • Use hand sanitiser (available at reception desk) prior to entering and exiting the gym.
  • Wipe down machines and equipment pre and post usage with the provided antibacterial wipes.
  • Maintain a 1.5m physical distance from others at all times.
  • Adhere to all venue and directional signage.
  • Exit via the reception area, as directed. SportUNE staff will record your departure.

Fields, Outdoor Training & Clubs

Consett Davis & Bellevue Playing Fields are only available to affiliated SportUNE clubs with approved COVID Safe activity plans. 

  • Bookings are essential – no walk-ins. Bookings can be made online www.sportune.com.au or call the SportUNE Centre during open hours (02) 6773 3856.
  • Follow the direction of our staff and signage at all times.
  • Under Stage 2 restrictions, non-contact Field bookings can only be made by affiliated SportUNE Clubs.
  • Club bookings will only be approved once the Club has submitted a COVID-Safe Activity Plan, that has been approved by The University of New England. Approved, non-contact field bookings are subject to the current guidelines as advised by the NSW Government and your respective national sporting organisation. If you have not yet received this please speak with Rhys Porter.
  • A club-appointed COVIDSafe Delegate must record the attendance, and contact details, of each participant prior to a booked session beginning. These records must be kept for a minimum of 28 days and, in the instance of a suspected or confirmed case, be produced to SportUNE without delay.
  • Participants must adopt the Australian Institute of Sport’s (AIS) ‘Get in, train and get out’ recommendation, and arrive dressed and ready to train, and leave immediately after their session.
  • Changing rooms across SportUNE venues are closed. Toilet facilities will be available, however, they are not intended to be used as a changing facility.
  • Participants should only arrive for the booked session close to the start time to avoid unnecessary congregating.
  • Participants must maintain 1.5m physical distancing requirements, ensure good hygiene practices are maintained and follow the directional signage at all times.
  • Participants must use the supplied hand sanitiser before and after the session. This is to be provided by the club.
  • Clubs are responsible for the safe and appropriate delivery of the training session, in accordance with their approved COVID-Safe Activity Plan. SportUNE staff and UNELife Safety, Security & Information officers will also be patrolling if further assistance is required.
  • Participants must leave the premises immediately after the session to avoid crowding in the area.
  • During Stage 2 restrictions, there should be no socialising before or after training sessions

SportUNE Social Saturday Run

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

As per all events at SportUNE Facilities, there are COVID restrictions and guidelines in place for the SportUNE Social Saturday Run Events.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

SportUNE expects all participants, volunteers, and spectators to:

  • Comply with the health directions of Government and public health authorities as issued from time to time.
  • Understand and act in accordance with the SportUNE/AAC COVID-19 Safety Plan as amended from time to time so you can participate in a safe environment. Relevant sections are included in the below document.
  • Always comply with the health directions from Government and Public Health authorities, and any testing and precautionary measures implemented by SportUNE and the AAC.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding the state of your personal health and any potential symptoms.
  • Monitor your health and take a cautious approach to self-isolation and reporting of potential symptoms.
  • Monitor your health and take all precautions required by law with regards to the reporting of potential symptoms and self-isolation.
  • Agree that if you have been sick in the 14 days prior to the event or are unwell at the time of the event with a cough, runny nose, cold or flu-like symptoms or if you have been in contact with a COVID patient with the last month that you not attend the event regardless of whether you have paid for your event/race registration fee.
  • Agree that you must not attend if in the last 14 days you have been unwell or had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 (cough, sore throat, fever or shortness of breath), or have been in a known hotspot in NSW, Qld, Vic or SA.
  • NSW residents should check the website: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news- and-updates#latest-covid-19-case-locations-in-nsw You will not be permitted to attend if your town or suburb is listed as a hotspot.

SUFL | Football League Information

All SportUNE Football League Clubs must have an approved COVID Safe activity plans.


  • Each Football League Club has to submit a COVID-Safe Activity Plan, that has been approved by The University of New England. Guidelines as advised by the NSW Government and the FFA.
  • Participants should only arrive at their match or training close to the start time to avoid unnecessary congregating.
  • Participants must maintain 1.5m physical distancing requirements, ensure good hygiene practices are maintained and follow the directional signage at all times.
  • Clubs are responsible for the safe and appropriate delivery of the training session, in accordance with their approved COVID-Safe Activity Plan. SportUNE staff and UNELife Safety, Security & Information officers will also be patrolling if further assistance is required.
  • During Stage 2 restrictions, there should be no socialising before or after training sessions
  • Spectators attending events are to be minimal.
  • If you have visited Victoria in the 14 days please do not attend events.

SUFL COVID PLAN

 

Gym

  • Train at a safe distance by using the markings set out within the gym to complete your work out.
  • No equipment is to be moved, excluding functional equipment.
  • Follow the 60 min usage time limit in the area and prepare your workout to fit into these timing restrictions.
  • Only use equipment which is available. Do not use equipment which has been sectioned off.
  • No sharing of equipment. During this time super setting and spotting is NOT permitted.

Pool

  • Please leave your belongings on allocated seating in the grandstand.
  • Spaces are limited to eighteen (18) swimmers at any one time.
  • Please stick to one lane.
  • Do not congregate at the end of the lane.
  • Adopt the Australian Institute of Sport’s (AIS) ‘Get in, train and get out’ recommendation, and arrive dressed and ready to swim, and leave immediately after your session.

Group Fitness

All Group Fitness Classes

  • You must bring own towel/water bottle
  • You must sign in on arrival
  • Do not attend if feel you feel sick or unwell
  • You must observe the get in, train, get out rule.
  • You must comply with all SportUNE conditions of entry
  • Please maintain 1.5m social distancing at all time, unless applying direct care or support to other participants.

Yoga

  • You must bring your own mat and towel

TBW/Fitness Plus

  • Please only use the equipment you have been given by the instructor (kettlebell, med ball etc).

Boxing

  • Where possible, please bring your own gloves/pads
  • Participants must observe all conditions of the boxing class, including NOT interchanging gloves and pads, once gloved.

The timetable and  guidelines will be under constant review and updated frequently to ensure a sustainably staged approach.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Group Fitness timetable will online, 7 days in advance for bookings.

You still need to check in when arriving at the centre in line with Government regulations.

If you are unable to make a booking you have made, please let us know so someone else can take your spot.We need you to just give us the heads up so that others don’t miss out!

Tennis Courts

  • Bookings are essential – no walk-ins. Bookings can be made via phone during open hours (02) 6773 3856.
  • Members must sign in before they start enter the courts.

Memberships

  • Membership fees will be reactivated to your previous rate prior to closure.
  • We understand that in this current time individual situations may differ. Specific variations to memberships will be handled on a case by case basis.
  • If members decide they do not wish to adhere to these restrictions, you are welcome to continue to an extension on your frozen account until restrictions have eased and access to all areas is available.

  • All members who choose to continue their membership usage of the SportUNE Centre must adhere to the rules stated on this page.
  • Failure to do so may result in being requested to leave the facility, with your booking cancelled and membership reviewed.

Non-Members

We will constantly review our restrictions on the usage of SportUNE to comply with State and University regulations.
 
At this stage a date has not been set as to when the facilities will be open to non members.

Fitness Passport Members

Fitness Passport have not reopened their membership just yet.

Unfortunately this means you will not be able to utilise SportUNE from the 15th of June under your fitness passport.

We would still love to see you in our facilities and you are welcome to purchase a 1 month membership if you would like to attend the gym or pool from the 15th of June.

We look forward to seeing you back at SportUNE very soon!

Changing Rooms & Lockers

  • For the time being changing rooms are closed, including shower facilities.
  • Individual toilets will be open, however, they are not to be used as a changing facility.
  • Lockers are not available at this point in time

Studio 1 & 2

  • Are currently closed to the public.
  • Sports Academy students  can apply for access to these rooms by contacting your High Performance Manager Directly.

  • Creche facilities are not available yet.

Rock Climbing Facilities

At the moment Rock Climbing Facilities are available by club booking only.

Opening Hours

As of Monday 15th June, 2020 SportUNE will return to normal.

  • Mon to Fri: 6am – 9pm
    Sat and Sun: 8am – 6pm

Time Restrictions

The current COVID environment means that SportUNE will be operating under heavy safety standards and restrictions.

  • In the interests of fairness and respect for all our members, we will endeavour to provide access for as many members as possible under these restrictions.

Number Of People

Following the current guidelines we are allowed one person per 4m squared in our venue at any one time, this includes staff and members.

This allowing up to;

  • 87 people in the foyer
  • 95 people in the gym
  • 18 people in the pool with up to 26 spectators
  • 40 people in New Hall & Campbell Hall

Depending on staffing levels, these numbers may be equal to or less, to ensure safe physical distancing – please follow the instruction of SportUNE staff at all times during your visit

Ensuring Health of Members & Staff

The health and safety of our community is our top priority.

  • SportUNE will be operating within the University of New England’s COVID Safe Framework and Safety Standards to ensure your safety, and the safety of our staff and community, while using our facilities.
