You can help our team and your fellow community members stay safe by following the below guidelines.

These guidelines will be under constant review and updated frequently to ensure a safe staged approach.

Things you need to know.

Signing in to our venues is mandatory.

Due to COVID all members, teams, and guests are required by law to sign in to all SportUNE venues and competitions.

Under the new rules, you will need to sign in with the Service NSW QR check-in, as well as signing in to our facilities.


Use your Service NSW App to sign in to our venues and competitions.

OR

1) For EACH person attending our venue, scan the right-side QR code with the camera app of your Smartphone.

2) Go to the Service NSW link contained in the QR code.

3) Fill in your details and press [Submit].

4) And done!

*If you do not have a smartphone a pen and paper sign-in sheet must be completed.

Why?

The name and contact details are being collected by Service NSW for the purpose of contact tracing in the event of a suspected COVID-19 case at this venue.

How secure is the personal information?

Your information will not be released to the public or shared with any third party except the government agency responsible to contact people who may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Please note each venue and competition has a different QR code. That must be scanned on your arrival.

Masks

Let’s talk about masks.

  • WHEN YOU ARRIVE
    No mask no entry – everyone is required to wear a mask upon arrival to our facility and activities.
  • QR code is mandatory.

WHEN YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK

  • When you’re walking around the centre.
  • When you’re in the gym.
  • When you’re participating in group fitness classes.
  • When you arrive at organised sports training, and games.
  • When watching organised sport (this means if you’re on the sideline watching any organised sport this includes coaches, managers, team doctors, and spectators).

WHEN CAN YOU TAKE THE MASK OFF

  • For the period of time you take to the field/court of organised sports (active participants, umpires, and referees only).
  • To eat or drink (when working out, your mask must be replaced when you’ve finished drinking).
  • When you leave our facilities.

EXEMPTIONS

  • We understand that some people in our community have valid exemptions. If you have an exemption due to a physical or mental health condition, please come and talk with SportUNE management so we can make a record of this, whilst you’re in our facilities.
  • We ask that people are respectful of other patrons’ privacy – if someone is not wearing a mask, please let our staff know and we will act accordingly.

Please note, this is something that we are constantly reviewing, we’re following the guides and restrictions of the NSW Office of Sport and NSW Health.

Members Must

  • Stay home if you are unwell and currently experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case in the last 14 days.
  • Adhere to Social Distancing.
  • Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands regularly, either with soap and water or hand sanitiser. Apply hand sanitiser on arrival and exit of the venue.
  • Sweat towels are compulsory in all areas of SportUNE, please use a clean sweat towel for each session.
  • Bring your own drink bottle
  • Clean equipment before and after use. Cleaning stations are available with high-grade disinfectant, paper towel, and hand sanitiser.
  • Follow COVID Safe directions for entering and exiting the facilities. Please dhere to signage throughout the venue.
  • Number of people in our facilities will vary with frequent reassessment and government updates, please follow staff for these updates.
  • Follow the directions of our staff at all times

School Group Bookings

SportUNE is able to facilitate School Group Bookings (unless extra restrictions are in place with NSW Health). 

All group bookings require;

  • A COVID safety plan must be completed and returned to SportUNE before bookings are placed.
  • Please contact SportUNE directly via email or phone (02) 6773 3856 and the team will walk you through this process.

Fields, Outdoor Training & Clubs

Consett Davis & Bellevue Playing Fields are only available to affiliated SportUNE clubs with approved COVID Safe activity plans. 

  • Bookings are essential – no walk-ins. Bookings can be made online or call the SportUNE Centre during open hours (02) 6773 3856.
  • Club bookings will only be approved once the Club has submitted a COVID-Safe Activity Plan, that has been approved by The University of New England. Approved, non-contact field bookings are subject to the current guidelines as advised by the NSW Government and your respective national sporting organisation. If you have not yet received this please speak with Rhys Porter.
  • A club-appointed COVIDSafe Delegate must record the attendance, and contact details, of each participant prior to a booked session beginning. These records must be kept for a minimum of 28 days and, in the instance of a suspected or confirmed case, be produced to SportUNE without delay.
  • Participants must maintain 1.5m physical distancing where possible requirements, ensure good hygiene practices are maintained and follow the directional signage at all times.
  • Clubs are responsible for the safe and appropriate delivery of the training session, in accordance with their approved COVID-Safe Activity Plan. SportUNE staff and UNELife Safety, Security & Information officers will also be patrolling if further assistance is required.

SUFL | Football League Information

All SportUNE Football League Clubs must have an approved COVID Safe activity plans.


  • Each Football League Club must submit a COVID-Safe Activity Plan, that has been approved by The University of New England. Guidelines as advised by the NSW Government and the FFA.
  • Participants must maintain 1.5m physical distancing where possible requirements, ensure good hygiene practices are maintained and follow the directional signage at all times.
  • Clubs are responsible for the safe and appropriate delivery of the training session, in accordance with their approved COVID-Safe Activity Plan. SportUNE staff and UNELife Safety, Security & Information officers will also be patrolling if further assistance is required.

Gym

  • Train at a safe distance by using the markings set out within the gym to complete your work out.
  • No equipment is to be moved, excluding functional equipment.
  • Follow the 60 min usage time limit in the area and prepare your workout to fit into these timing restrictions.
  • Only use equipment which is available. Do not use equipment which has been sectioned off.
  • No sharing of equipment. During this time super setting and spotting is NOT permitted.

Pool

  • Spaces are limited in accordance with NSW Health Guidelines
  • Please stick to one lane.
  • Do not congregate at the end of the lane.

Group Fitness

All Group Fitness Classes

  • You must bring own towel/water bottle
  • You must sign in on arrival
  • Do not attend if feel you feel sick or unwell
  • You must observe the get in, train, get out rule.
  • You must comply with all SportUNE conditions of entry
  • Please maintain 1.5m social distancing where possible, unless applying direct care or support to other participants.

Yoga

  • You must bring your own mat and towel

TBW/Fitness Plus

  • Please only use the equipment you have been given by the instructor (kettlebell, med ball etc).

Boxing

  • Where possible, please bring your own gloves/pads
  • Participants must observe all conditions of the boxing class, including NOT interchanging gloves and pads, once gloved.

The health and safety of our community is our top priority.

  • SportUNE will be operating within the University of New England’s COVID Safe Framework and Safety Standards to ensure your safety, and the safety of our staff and community, while using our facilities.
