UNE Staff Salary Sacrifice
Make your membership more affordable with pre-tax payments.
UNE staff can purchase a 12-month upfront SportUNE membership for $749 through salary sacrifice.
Instead of paying $749 upfront, the cost is split across 4 fortnightly payments of $187.25, deducted from your salary before tax is calculated. This can reduce the amount of tax you pay, meaning the membership may cost you less from your take-home pay.

Casual Entry
Just visiting? No problem.
Enjoy full-day access to the gym, group fitness classes and selected courts with a casual facility entry.
$17.50 per day
Your casual entry is valid for the entire day, so you can leave and return to SportUNE later that same day.
Purchase at the SportUNE front counter and complete the casual entry waiver before accessing the facilities.
Pool access is not included.

Everything you need to know before getting started.
What is included in my SportUNE membership?
Your membership includes unlimited access to the gym, group fitness and swimming pool, as well as access to a range of SportUNE courts, fields and sporting facilities.
What do I need to do before using the gym?
Before using the gym for the first time, you’ll need to complete a short pre-exercise screening form.
We also offer a free, optional gym accreditation if you’d like some extra guidance. One of our friendly staff members can show you around the gym, familiarise you with the equipment and help you get started confidently. This can be booked with our staff at the front counter of SportUNE
Is there a minimum term for direct debit memberships?
Yes. All Direct Debit memberships have a 12-month minimum term, with payments made weekly. Payment processing fees may apply.
If you cancel within the first 12 months, a $100 early cancellation fee applies.
After the initial 12-month term, your membership will continue automatically until you request cancellation.
Can I put my membership on hold?
Yes. Depending on your membership type, you can place your membership on hold for up to 8 weeks.
Conditions apply, so speak with our team if you need to pause your membership.
Can I cancel my membership?
For Direct Debit memberships, a $100 cancellation fee applies if you cancel within the first 12 months.
Upfront memberships are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled except in extreme circumstances, such as injury. Supporting documentation may be required.

Do I need to book group fitness classes?
We recommend booking your group fitness classes in advance to secure your place, particularly for popular classes.
Bookings can be made online, over the phone, or with our friendly staff at the front counter.
How old do I need to be to become a member?
SportUNE memberships are available from 15 years of age. Anyone under 18 will require a parent or guardian’s signature when signing up.
Young people aged 13–14 years can access SportUNE for a reduced casual entry fee of $10 per visit when accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.
Are SportUNE facilities always available?
Our regular opening hours are 5:00am–9:00pm Monday to Friday and 6:00am–6:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
We operate reduced hours on public holidays and are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Facility availability may occasionally be affected by competitions, bookings, programs or maintenance. We aim to communicate significant changes or closures to members in advance wherever possible.
Who can become a SportUNE member?
Everyone is welcome at SportUNE! Memberships are available to anyone aged 15 years and over, including UNE students, UNE staff and members of the wider Armidale community.
