Our rock climbing facility features two different angled walls and a bouldering cave, with four ropes that cater from beginner levels all the way through to highly skilled climbers.

Catering to all ages and skill levels, our facility provides a supportive and inclusive environment for learning and mastering the art of climbing. Outdoor Adventure Club (UNE OAC) members volunteer to provide supervised climbing times to the club and the general public. If you are interested in climbing, the UNE OAC Club nights are Mondays, public nights are; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5.30 – 7.30 pm. Club supervisors are available to assist newcomers and guide them through essential skills and techniques such as learning to tie knots and rope handling skills.

Things you need

UNE OAC supplies the basic climbing equipment as part of the entry cost including a harnesses and climbing shoes.

Please note, due to COVID-19 restrictions the club is unable to provide shared hand chalk. If you are bringing your own, alcohol-based liquid chalk is preferred.

Public climbing nights

Public nights are;

  • Club night | Mon, 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm
  • Public nights | Tues, Weds & Fri, 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm

Climbing induction

All participants must be shown the ropes by one of our climbing instructors.

A climbing instructor will be available during climbing hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday nights.
