    Existing studentsenrol in your class & pay. Please follow the prompts, you will have to create an account if you’re not already a member with us at SportUNE.

Swim School Program

Water Babies

Program Overview

Our Water Babies program caters to children aged from 6months to Pre School. Designed to introduce your child to the water and make them feel comfortable and confident  in a structured environment.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minute classes once per week

Pre School (3-5yrs)

Program Overview

Our Pre School program caters to children aged from 3 to 5 years. Designed to develop water familiarisation skills and building the foundations for stroke development in a fun and structured environment.

The primary focus is teaching key foundation skills including:

  • Performing safe entries/exits
  • Kicking
  • Front floating
  • Back floating
  • Blowing bubbles
  • Submersion

The program introduces floatation aids, such as kickboards, to develop confidence and establish a streamlined body position.

Small class sizes ensure children receive maximum attention.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minute classes once per week

School Age (4yrs+ )

Program Overview

Our School-Age Program is designed to accommodate all skill abilities, from beginner through to advanced swimmers.

Classes are structured to meet the individual needs of each student, each skill is taught progressively.

Children will learn and develop:

  • Make safe and sensible decisions and solve problems in and around water
  • Breath control
  • Buoyance and floating techniques
  • Propulsion through the water
  • All strokes

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minute classes once per week

Swim Squad

These classes are open to confident swimmers. Designed to push your fitness to the next level and help you with your personal swimming goals.

Coaches are on hand to offer advice, provide challenging sessions, and encourage your technique and improvement.

The primary focus is teaching key foundation skills including:

–          Technique

–          Fitness

–          Personal Improvement

Session Duration:
1 hour, 9 week program.

Session Days:
5:00pm Mondays and Wednesdays

6:00am Tuesdays and Fridays

You can choose your attendance days

Session Price:

$18.50 for 1 session per week

$15.00 for 2 sessions per week ($56 discount)

$12.50 for 3 sessions per week ($144 discount)

$10.00 for 4 sessions per week ($272 discount)

Water Babies (From 6months)

Water Babies

Baby learn to swim covers water confidence with parent/ carer.

Parent/carer will need to be in the water with their child at all times.

Simple activities and songs are used to introduce your child to the water and help your child build confidence.

Classes have up to eight participants and instructors are never more than three meters from the children.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minutes classes

Pre School (3-5yrs)

Yellow 1

Independent water confidence and survival skills.

This is your child’s first experience of a class without their parent/carer.

Classes have up to three participants and instructors are never more than three meters from the children.

Yellow 2

Safety skills and introductions to freestyle

Your child will continue to have the safety skills reinforced. Freestyle skill are introduced to begin the process of learning this stroke in full.

Yellow 3

Learn correct freestyle and introduction to backstroke.

Freestyle will be taught focusing on technique. Backstroke skills are introduced to begin the process of learning this stroke in full.

School Age Stages (4yrs +)

Blue 1

Refine freestyle and introduction to backstroke.

Freestyle will be taught focusing on technique. Backstroke skills are introduced to begin the process of learning this stroke in full.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minute classes

Price: $166.50

Blue 2

Increase distance in freestyle and backstroke. Introduce breaststroke and develop correct technique.

This level will see your child swimming more continuously while technique continues to get monitored.

Breaststroke skills are introduced to begin the process of learning the stroke in full.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minutes classes

Blue 3

Maintaining technique and increasing distance for freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Introduction to butterfly.

This level will see your child increase distance of swimming and complete drills for all strokes independently.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minutes classes

Price: $166.50

Green 1

Maintaining technique and increasing distance for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Develop starts, turns and streamlines.

Technique is still monitored and distance will be increase to doing continuous laps.

Racing skills such as starts, turns and streamlines will also be introduced.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minutes classes

Green 2

Improve and maintain correct technique in all four strokes. Reinforce racing skills in preparation for next level.

Duration: 9 weeks, 30 minutes classes

Green 3

Improve speed, skill and endurance in preparation for competitions. Push your fitness to the next level.

All new students (16yrs and below) need to book an assessment before they’re able to participate in lessons.

Swim School Terms & Conditions

When enroling as a student at SportUNE’s Swim School you acknowledge that:

  • The Student participating is medically and physically fit to proceed with the exercise.
  • You declare that you have voluntarily read and understood this Warning, Exclusion of Liability and Release and Indemnity and accept and assume the inherent risk of injury in participating in pool use at SportUNE.

Payment

  1. Swim fees are due at the time of enrolment.
  2. Fees are adjusted according to public holidays and changes in number of weeks per term
  3. There will be no refund for lessons missed due to conflicting activities, holidays, or if you choose to miss a lesson.

Makeup Lessons

  1. Makeup lessons must be used during the term the sickness occurred and are only available if there are vacancies in that level.
  2. Credit is not available as an alternative.
  3. Space in classes for makeup lessons is not guaranteed.
  4. Makeup lessons will not necessarily be with the original instructor.
  5. We intend to keep the consistency of teachers, however, due to unforeseen circumstances we can’t guarantee teachers.
  6. There may be occasions when the time of a class is changed, however, this will be actioned in communication with the caregiver.
  7. All under 3’s MUST wear a swim nappy.
  8. Use of cameras and videos are permitted to film your own child, however, no else without permission from the Aquatics Manager and other parents involved.
  9. Minimum ratios per class apply. Should class numbers fall below minimum ratios the lesson time may be rescheduled.

Use of Facilities Agreement

  1. It is the member’s responsibility to provide SportUNE staff with all relevant medical history, including any restrictions, whether requested or not.
  2. It is at the member’s own risk that he/she uses SportUNE’s facilities, and members, therefore, agree to release, to the fullest extent permitted by the law, SportUNE, its staff, and agents, from all claims and demands of whatever kind which may arise from his/her use of SportUNE’s facilities.
  3. It is the member’s responsibility to observe and abide by SportUNE’s rules, policies, and procedures, as well as those directions given by SportUNE staff and agents.
  4. Misuse of equipment, bad language, or misbehaviour will result in the member being asked to leave. Suspension, or even cancellation of membership (without refund), may also apply.
  5. Making or receiving calls from mobile phones is not permitted at, or near, the Customer Service Reception desk. Mobile calls elsewhere will be tolerated as long as they do not interfere with the schedules of SportUNE members.
  6. Enrolments are not transferable.
  7. SportUNE reserves the right to alter pricing at any time during the term of an individual’s membership.
  8. SportUNE reserves the right to close any of our facilities at any time for upgrades or maintenance without due notice given to members.
  9. Amendments to enrolments are subject to administration fees payable upon request.

Release & Indemnity

In consideration of UNE Life Pty Ltd permitting you to use SportUNE facilities, you:

1. Release and forever discharge the University of New England and UNE Life Pty Ltd from all actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, damages, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses however arising that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my involvement in training or other activities in the SportUNE Gym or other SportUNE facilities; and

2. Indemnify the University of New England and UNE Life Pty Ltd to the extent permitted under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or otherwise by law in respect of any actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, losses, damages, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses, as a result of or in connection with my involvement in training or other activities or using facilities at SportUNE whether caused or contributed to, directly or indirectly, by any act of negligence to the fullest extent permitted by law, breach of duty, default and/or omission on the part of the University of New England or UNE Life Pty Ltd.

3. Agree to abide by UNE Life rules, policies, and procedures when using SportUNE facilities.
